Dr. Carole A. Oser, PT, DPT
Dr. Oser has been a practicing therapist since 1979, a resident of Wilmette for more than 20 years and is the owner of Healing Tree. She has more than 30 years of experience in treating a wide range of conditions, and believes that physical therapy doesn’t have to be painful to be effective. Carole combines traditional methods and alternative techniques, with a strong emphasis on patient education.
Dr. Oser is a graduate of Northwestern University’s physical therapy program, and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rosalind Franklin University Medical School. She devotes a great deal of time to continuing education in diverse and emerging subjects such as Integrative Manual Therapy, women’s health, pre- and post-natal therapy and osteoporosis. She has recently completed the 3-part, year long, Discover Physio Series on the Integrated Systems Model for treatment.
Prior to opening Healing Tree, Dr. Oser was a partner in Back-n-Balance Physical Therapy and has also practiced at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, as well as Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Illinois Network of Independent Physical Therapists (INIPT) and the Wilmette Chamber of Commerce.

Linda Brown, PT, MPT
Linda has been a practicing physical therapist since 1996, and has worked with Healing Tree since 2009. Linda combines traditional physical therapy with alternative techniques, including myofascial release and craniosacral therapy. She has also expanded her expertise into the treatment of vestibular disorders and balance problems, including vertigo, dizziness, and balance disorders.
Linda earned her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis in 1996, and continues to expand her knowledge through continuing education.
Linda began her career with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where she worked in both hospital and outpatient settings to treat patients with neurological and orthopedic diagnoses. Later, she worked with Dr. Carole Oser at Back-n-Balance Physical Therapy, and their partnership continues today.
Julia Tauber, PT, DPT
Julia graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2014. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in General Science, with a concentration in Environmental Studies from Grinnell College. She has been working with Healing Tree Physical Therapy since July 2017.
Prior to joining Healing Tree, Julia worked for ProFitness Physical Therapy in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, with a focus in outpatient orthopedic therapy. Her strength as a physical therapist lies in dedication to patient success and satisfaction by creating high-quality patient relationships. Her overall approach to physical therapy management is skillful care, being dedicated to safe, individualized treatment and achieving intended patient outcomes. Julia has recently completed a Master Class in Advanced Concepts of the Shoulder Complex. She has an interest in working with sports rehab and teen athletes, post-op conditions, joint replacement, as well as recovery and wellness across the lifespan. She strives to help her aging patients maintain safety and independence in everyday activities.
When not at work, Julia enjoys traveling, working out, and cooking. As a lifelong athlete, Julia has always participated in team sports and outdoor adventure activities, including softball, rugby, canoeing, rock climbing, hiking and cycling. As a former Outward Bound Instructor, she knows the value of being confronted with a personal limit, finding the resolve to achieve a goal, and strives to motivate others to rise to their own challenges.
Lisa Hirschle, PT, MPT
Lisa is trained in Craniosacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute. After earning her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI in 1999; Lisa began practicing physical therapy at an acute care hospital in Kansas City, MO with an emphasis on wound healing. Since returning to Chicago, she has worked in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and since 2003 has been a physical therapist at Misericordia Home, which focuses on maximizing the potential of people with mild to profound developmental disabilities.
In keeping with the philosophy of Healing Tree, Lisa looks at the whole body to find the origin of dysfunction and pain. Treatment plans include a variety of traditional and alternative methods with a focus on manual therapies.
Lisa has also teamed up with The Dailey Method Barre Studio to assist clients in finding a way to use this safe and effective workout as part of their rehab plan. Lisa also competes in triathlons and enjoys other workouts such as yoga, circuit training, and swimming. Lisa can effectively guide patients in finding their individual, optimal workout for health and injury prevention/recovery.
Cynthia Reeder, PT, MPT
Cynthia is a physical therapist specializing in sports orthopedic rehabilitation. She is a native to Chicago, however received both her undergraduate and graduate educations in Southern California and has over 13 years of experience working in Los Angeles. After earning her Master of Physical Therapy degree at Chapman University, Cynthia worked in a number of well-respected orthopedic clinics where she treated a variety of patient populations including post-surgical, pre- and post-natal, chronic pain, amateur sports and professional sports. Her professional athlete clientele included professional dancers, members of the NBA, NFL, MLS, WTA, MMA, and arena football. Prior to joining Healing Tree, Cynthia owned her own clinic in Brentwood, CA and was the physical therapist and consultant for competitive reality television shows including “America’s Best Dance Crew”, “Skating with the Stars” and “Dancing with the Stars”.
Cynthia’s own background and love for dance directs her focus on movement therapy and whole body mechanics. She enjoys incorporating alternative therapies including pilates, yoga, and diaphragmatic work into the rehabilitation process in order to achieve body symmetry and balance. Cynthia remains active in her professional education developing her expertise under Mulligan Concept, Active Release Technique, participating in a year-long orthopaedic manual therapy course and getting certified as a Golf Biomechanic from the C.H.E.K institute. In addition, Cynthia enjoys serving as a Clinical Instructor and mentor for physical therapy graduate students from across the country.
Connie Aburano, RN, LAc, Acupuncturist
Connie has been in the health care field for over 25 years as a nurse at Evanston Northwestern Hospital. As a graduate of Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, she is a past president of the Illinois Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and also served on the Board of Acupuncture for the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Connie finds that spirituality brings a tremendously powerful depth to the healing work. Her spiritual training includes work with the Warriors of Peace, Pranic Healing and Healing Touch.

Lisa James, Billing & Practice Consultant
When it comes to handling billing and insurance issues, Lisa offers each visitor to Healing Tree the personal attention they deserve. Known for her kind efficiency, Lisa is dedicated to streamlining the process and assisting our clients with billing issues. She has more than 24 years of patient care experience, and she’s been a dependable part of our team since 2008.
Lisa studied Business and Computer Science at Robert Morris College in 1988, and she consults on HIPAA, insurance and safety issues.
Lisa also worked with Dr. Carole Oser at Back-n-Balance Physical Therapy, where she became a favorite of patients and staff alike.
